Last night I had a group using epic, steam, ps4 and ps5 and we were all able to make same-platform parties and then hop into a server together.

In its bottom left corner you will find the "Invite Party Members" button. Unfortunately trying to play together with a larger number of people causes problems. There is no option for joining parties in the game.
